2025 Asian Winter Games will Kick Off in Harbin on February 7th

The 2025 Asian Winter Games will take place in Harbin from February 7-14, according to the official website of the Olympic Council of Asia(OCA).

The men's and women's ice hockey and curling competitions will start on February 5according to the competition schedule unveiled by the OCA on the official website.The 9th Asian Winter Games will feature six sports, 11 disciplines and 64 events. The six sports are biathlon, curling, ice hockey, skating, skiing and ski mountaineering.All six sports will contain man and woman's singles, some of which contain mixed doubles.

The speed skating competition will offer the highest number of gold medals, 14 among all event, followed byshort track speed skating that will offer 9 gold medals. The ice sports venues include the existing venues in which the 1996 Asian Winter Games were held previously.Snow events will be held in Yabuli, about 200 kilometers away from Harbin. The opening and closing ceremonies will be held at the Harbin International Convention and Exhibition Sports Center.

Competition Schedule for the 2025 Asian Winter Games

According to the relevant departments of the organizing committee, preparations for the games are now underway, and the maintenance and renovation of the venue and supporting facilities have also been launched. The market development plan for the Harbin Asian Winter Games has also been completed, with subsequent efforts in soliciting "official partners," "official sponsors," and "licensed product manufacturers.".

The Harbin Asian Winter Games is another major comprehensive international ice and snow event held in China after the Beijing Winter Olympics. China has previously held two Asian Winter Games, one in Harbin in 1996 and the other in Changchun in 2007. Next year will be the second time Harbin hosts the Asian Winter Games.
