2019- 01- 14 harbin.gov.cn

An ice and snow exhibition area at Harbin Ice and Snow World that was inspired by a popular mobile phone game, Arena of Valor, officially opened to the public on Dec 31, 2018, following a 30-day construction period.

The exhibition covers an area of around 15,000 square meters with 65,000 cubic meters of ice being used to depict the characters and battlefields from the game by integrating snow and ice sculpting skills, as well as digital technologies.

Enthusiasts of the game will not only enter a vivid world made up of sculptures, but also compete in e-sports competitions, which will be held in the area to attract gamers, with the highest prize being 100,000 yuan ($15,200).

In addition, a light show using 3D shadow casting technique to tell the stories of the game’s heroic characters was also introduced to attract tourists. The show will be staged every evening in early January.
