Harbin's natural scenic spots, including Jinlong Mountain National Forest Park, Hulan Estuary Wetland Park, Jiguan Mountain Scenic Spot, as well as the landmark of Harbin—Harbin Central Avenue, proved the most popular choices for travelers over the holiday period.

Due to advance preparation by the Harbin Tourism Committee and the Harbin Tourism Quality Supervision Institute, there were no major travel safety accidents in Harbin and no tourist complaints during the holiday.

Mid-Autumn Festival is an evening celebration where families gather together to light lanterns, eat mooncakes and look at the full moon. In traditional Chinese culture, the full moon symbolizes family reunions, which is why the day is also known as the Festival of Reunion. The festival falls on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month, which was Sept 24 this year.
