The launch ceremony for a new ski school was held at Wanda BMW Snow Amusement Park in Harbin, capital of Heilongjiang province, on May 13.

Swiss Ski School (China) will be jointly run by the International Ski Instructors Association (ISIA) and Harbin Wanda Ski School.

The new school will employ experienced teachers from Switzerland to teach students the latest skiing techniques.

Harbin Wanda BMW Snow Amusement Park, as the world’s biggest indoor ski park, will provide outstanding teaching facilities for the school which can accommodate 3,000 people to ski on six different slopes at a constant temperature of -5 Celsius.

Along with the launch ceremony, a competition to find the most “beautiful skiing girl” also concluded the same day, with training provided by the new ski school.

We are committed to building a high-level ski school through the link with Switzerland, while continuing to promote the sport to the general public, said a representative of Wanda BMW Snow Amusement Park, speaking at the launch ceremony.

It will also serve as a base to train skiers for the Beijing Winter Olympic Games in 2022, he added.
